CANCELLATION POLICY

You may cancel your reservation free of charge by 12:00 PM (Local Time) at least 72 hours prior to your scheduled check-in date. Cancellations received after the 72-hour cancellation deadline will be charged the first night's stay. This charge applies whether or not you have checked in. No-shows will be charged the full reservation amount. Early departures are subject to the original reservation terms and are non-refundable.

Long Weekend Cancellation Policy

Reservations with an arrival date during any statutory or civic long weekend require a minimum of 72 hours' notice prior to check-in for cancellation. Cancellations received after the cancellation deadline will be charged the full amount of the first night's stay for each room reserved. Any remaining nights will be cancelled at that time. No-shows will be charged the full reservation amount. Early departures are subject to the original reservation terms and are non-refundable.

Apartment Suite Cancellation Policy

Reservations for the Apartment Suite require a minimum of 7 days' notice prior to arrival for cancellation. Cancellations made within 7 days of arrival will be charged the full reservation amount. If the Apartment Suite is booked together with additional guest rooms under the same reservation, the entire reservation will be subject to the Apartment Suite's 7-day cancellation policy. All guests and visitors must remain within the confirmed occupancy limits and comply with all property policies. The Apartment Suite is intended for quiet enjoyment and relaxing stays. Parties, events, excessive gatherings, or unauthorized visitors are strictly prohibited.

LARGE GROUP & GROUP BLOCK RESERVATIONS ( 4 OR MORE ROOMS)

A group reservation is defined as:

• A booking of four (4) or more rooms, regardless of the length of stay; or
• Any reservation associated with the same event, organization, tournament, wedding, reunion, sports team, corporate booking, tour, negotiated group rate, or room block, regardless of whether the rooms are booked together or separately, under different names, paid for individually, transferred to another guest, or reserved through different booking channels.

Due to the impact group reservations have on room availability and inventory, the following conditions apply:

• A valid credit card guarantee and/or security deposit may be required to secure the reservation.
• Group reservations must be fully guaranteed no later than 14 days prior to arrival, unless otherwise agreed to in writing.
• Reservations are not considered confirmed until the required guarantee has been received and accepted by the property.
• Minor administrative adjustments (including guest names or room assignments) may be permitted up to 7 days prior to arrival, subject to availability.
• The total number of rooms or reserved nights may not be reduced after the applicable cancellation deadline.
• Failure to provide the required guarantee may result in cancellation of the reservation.
• Reservations associated with a group remain subject to the applicable group booking, guarantee, payment, and cancellation policies even if the reservation is booked separately, transferred to another guest, paid for by another individual or company, reserved through a different booking channel, or otherwise made separately from the group.
• Following the applicable cancellation deadline, group reservations are non-refundable, including unused rooms, unused nights, no-shows, and early departures, unless otherwise agreed to in writing by the property.
• Any exceptions are solely at the discretion of Manitoulin Inn.
• These conditions apply regardless of the booking channel, including reservations made directly with the property or through any online travel agency (OTA), booking platform, travel agent, or third-party reservation service. Any additional written group agreement, quotation, confirmation, or special booking terms provided by Manitoulin Inn shall form part of the reservation agreement and will prevail where applicable.

CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND OUR CONTROL

Cancellations resulting from circumstances beyond the control of Manitoulin Inn, including but not limited to:

• Ferry cancellations or service disruptions
• Little Current Swing Bridge closures
• Highway or road closures
• Weather conditions
• Wildfires or smoke conditions
• Vehicle breakdowns or mechanical failures
• Traffic accidents
• Flight delays or cancellations
• Medical emergencies
• Government advisories
• Any other travel interruption or unforeseen circumstance remain subject to the applicable cancellation policy for the reservation. We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance to protect against unexpected travel disruptions.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF POLICIES

By confirming a reservation with Manitoulin Inn, guests acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to these policies, as well as any additional terms and conditions communicated at the time of booking.

CHECK-IN REQUIREMENTS

Minimum age to check in and reserve a room at the Manitoulin Inn is 19 years of age. In the interests of security and to prevent fraud, guests are required to confirm their identity by providing their valid government issued photo identification (Driver’s License, Passport, etc.) at check-in.  

A valid and signed credit card in the name of the guest registration is required at the time of check-in. 

At the time of check-in and during their stay, guests are agreeing that their booking is fully guaranteed. Guests are no longer able to make changes to their reservations(unless they wish to add or upgrade to their booking) and our cancellation policy applies. For example, if a guest has booked for 4 nights, and upon check-in or during their stay wishes to only stay for 3 nights, they are guaranteeing the amount of their full stay.  

NON-SMOKING

There is absolutely no exceptions for smoking inside of any of our rooms.  

In the event of any physical evidence, or residual odor which indicates that smoking of any form has taken place inside a guest room, a minimum charge of $200.00 will be made against the credit card provided to the Manitoulin Inn at the time of check-in. 

This charge will cover the cost of the maintenance and additional cleaning required to maintain the room to its original condition, as well as cover the reservation cost of the room should the room not be in a state to reserve for the next guest.  

ZERO TOLERANCE PARTY POLICY

In the interests of quiet enjoyment and respect for all guests at the Manitoulin Inn, a no party policy applies to all guests staying at the property. Guests are expected to be respectful of other guests at all times, and to be quiet between 10:00 pm and 7:00am.  

Immediate eviction with no refund applies to any breaches of this policy. 

PETS

With the exception of Sight and Hearing assistance dogs and advance notice, all pets are strictly forbidden inside guestrooms. Any guests breaching this rule will face immediate eviction and a minimum $150.00 cleaning fee for carpet and any soft furnishings effected.  

Pets in vehicles may only be permitted by prior specific arrangement.

COOKING

Cooking in rooms is strictly prohibited, unless your reserved room has a kitchenette.

Cooking on sidewalks outside is strictly prohibited and a charge may apply.

Microwave use is acceptable in all guest rooms.

Rooms with a kitchen or kitchenette may be subject to additional fees if the cooking space is not maintained and requires deep cleaning by our housekeeping staff. Fees for additional cleaning may apply where cooking is permitted and the kitchen space is not maintained in reasonable condition.

PROPERTY OR ROOM DAMAGE

Any damage to Manitoulin Inn property or rooms, whether accidental or willful, is the responsibility of the registered guest for each particular room. Any costs associated with repairs and/or replacement will be charged to the credit card of the registered guest.In extreme cases, criminal charges will be pursued. Any damages to the rooms or property can result in eviction right away with no refunds issued and deposits returned.

Lost, unreturned, or damaged room keys are considered property loss and are subject to a $25 replacement fee, which may be charged to the credit card on file.

MANAGERS DISCRETION

This property is privately owned, and the management reserves the right to refuse service to anyone. 

Management is entitled to exercise discretion and either revoke a booking or resell a room in the following instances:

1. If a guest arrives to check-in in an intoxicated or disruptive state
2. The guest has not provided a valid credit card and CVV number by the required date. 
3. Guests fails to arrive within a reasonable time of the advised ETA. The onus is on the guest to advise of any delays for arrival time.     

Management is not responsible for accidents, injuries, or loss of personal belongings occurring on the property. Management is entitled to refuse refunds during your stay should they not follow our policies.

SECURITY DEPOSIT

Guest Rooms – Pre-Authorization of $150.00 will be processed on given credit card 48 hours prior to arrival. Fees may apply per incident and are not limited to a single occurrence.

Apartment Suite – A pre-authorization of $300.00 will be processed 48 hours prior to arrival due to the full kitchen, additional furnishings, and extended occupancy capacity. The Apartment Suite includes kitchen appliances, cookware, and additional amenities. Any excessive cleaning, grease residue, strong cooking odours, missing kitchenware, food left in refrigerator, stains, furniture damage, or misuse of the space beyond normal wear and tear may result in charges applied to the credit card on file.

Apartment Suite reservations may be subject to review by management. The property reserves the right to verify booking details and occupancy to ensure compliance with property policies. If a reservation does not meet these policies, management reserves the right to cancel the booking within 24 hours of receipt and issue a full refund.

A pre-authorization is a temporary hold which will be returned/voided if there are no issues upon our management or housekeeping staff assessment of the room upon check-out.
